Swedish authorities arrested Ola Rollén on Wednesday 26th of October based on an arrest warrant issued by ØKOKRIM and founded on a decision from the Oslo District Court. Rollén was handed over to ØKOKRIM on Friday. He was remanded into custody by Oslo District Court and will be held in custody until Saturday 5th of November, unless the court decides otherwise.

– With regard to the ongoing investigation I can not comment on the specific contents of the charge other than that the charges involve illegal insider trading in a Norwegian company and that the amounts are significant. The maximum sentence for insider trading is six years imprisonment, says Senior Public Prosecutor Marianne S. Bender.

 – As close to 40 percent of the shares listed on the Oslo Stock Exchange are owned by foreigners, it is of importance that ØKOKRIM pays attention to share trading performed by foreigners and investigates if there is suspicion of for example illegal insider trading, says Senior Public Prosecutor  Marianne S. Bender.
